TWO-WEEK PROGRAM

Training takes place in your home, where your dog’s real behavior happens.

We work with your dog Monday through Thursday, focusing on building skills throughout the week. At the end of each week, we meet with you to review the training and teach you how to maintain the progress your dog has made.

This ensures that your dog learns to work with you, not just the trainer.

WHAT WE FOCUS ON

Many dog owners don’t need a full obedience program — they just need help fixing the everyday behaviors that make life with their dog stressful.

Instead of teaching a long list of commands, we focus on the four skills that make the biggest difference in daily life with your dog.

During the program we introduce:

Calm Leash Walking

If walks feel like a battle, we fix that. We teach your dog to move calmly beside you so that getting outside becomes something you both look forward to instead of something you dread.

The Place Command

Every dog needs an off switch. The place command teaches your dog to settle calmly in one designated spot and stay there, giving you back control of your home and your peace of mind.

Remote Collar Communication

Introduced properly and humanely, the remote collar becomes a clear and fair communication tool. Your dog learns exactly what’s expected of them, which means less confusion and more reliable behavior.

Everyday Manners

Jumping on guests, barking for attention, ignoring commands, general household chaos — we address the frustrations that make daily life with your dog harder than it should be.

This program isn’t just training exercises — they’re the foundation of a calmer, more enjoyable relationship with your dog.

IS THIS PROGRAM RIGHT FOR YOU?

If your dog’s behavior is making daily life harder than it should be — this is where we start.

You don’t need a full obedience overhaul to see a real difference. The Foundational Program is designed for dogs who have specific habits that are making life frustrating, and owners who want practical results fast.

This program is the right fit if your dog:

  • Pulls on leash — if every walk turns into a tug of war, we teach your dog to move calmly beside you so walks become something you actually enjoy
  • Jumps on people — whether it’s guests at the door or strangers on the street, we give your dog a calmer, more appropriate way to greet the world
  • Struggles to settle in the house — if your dog can’t seem to relax and is constantly underfoot or into everything, we give them the structure and skills they need to find their off switch
  • Ignores commands — if your dog only listens when they feel like it, we build the kind of reliable communication that works even when distractions are present
  • Barks excessively — whether it’s at the door, out the window, or at other dogs, we address the root of the behavior so your home feels calm again
Our goal at Confident K9 is to help pet owners develop a deeper relationship built on trust through clear communication and mutual respect.

Prefer to Board & Train?

Our Board & Train programs are just as rooted in real-world results. Your dog trains and lives with us — and when they come home, we come with them. We’re the only trainer in Middle Georgia who completes in-home transition sessions after every Board & Train to make sure the training sticks where it matters most.

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about dog training, our programs, and how we work.

How long does dog training take?

It depends on your goals and where your dog is starting from. Our Puppy Foundations and Starter Pack programs are two weeks, our Advanced Home School is three weeks, and our Board & Train programs vary based on the level of training involved. Most owners start seeing meaningful changes within the first few days — and by the end of the program, the difference is significant. The key to lasting results is consistency after the program ends, which is why we dedicate time at the end of every week to teaching you how to maintain everything we’ve built.

Do you offer in-home dog training in my area?

Yes — we serve Macon, Warner Robins, Perry, Byron, Fort Valley, and surrounding Middle Georgia communities. All of our in-home programs take place directly in your home and neighborhood, which means your dog learns to behave in the exact environment they live in every day. If you’re unsure whether we service your area, give us a call or send us a text and we’ll let you know right away.

What age should dogs start training?

The earlier the better. Our Puppy Foundations Program is designed for puppies as young as 10 weeks old, making it one of the earliest structured training options available in Middle Georgia. Because we train in your home rather than a facility, we can begin working with young puppies before many traditional programs would even accept them. For older dogs, it’s never too late — we work with dogs of all ages and tailor every program to meet them where they are.

Does training help with leash pulling and jumping?

Absolutely — these are two of the most common reasons dog owners reach out to us, and they’re exactly what our programs are designed to address. Leash pulling and jumping aren’t signs of a bad dog. They’re signs of a dog that hasn’t been given clear structure and communication yet. Through our Starter Pack and Advanced Home School programs we teach your dog how to walk calmly beside you and greet people politely — creating habits that stick because we build them in the real environments where those behaviors actually happen.
